Short story longer: “real nourishment” includes a healthy diet but it also includes other aspects of life necessary for wellbeing. With your coach, you will look at how all parts of your life are connected and affect your health. Let's face it—no amount of kale is going to make you feel better if other areas of your life are unbalanced. Does stress at your job or in your relationship(s) cause you to overeat? Does lack of sleep or low energy prevent you from exercising? Does having three meals a day at your desk leave you longing for more social interaction?

Your coach will help you gain the education and self-awareness needed to make the best decisions for yourself in any given circumstance. You will define what you value most for your wellbeing and use these visions to motivate specific goals that bring you closer to where you want to be. The Urban Wellness method involves working within your lifestyle parameters to optimize your health—realistic, doable, practical recommendations only!

We completely understand that work-life balance seems like a myth and since work is a part of life, we prefer to call it "life-balance." Does this sound familiar to you? You're focused so intently on building your career that you don't find time to enjoy the benefits of it. When the weekend rolls around, you're exhausted but end up cramming in a week’s worth of activity into two days to compensate (the "play hard"). There are over 100 dietary theories and there is no “one diet fits all” solution to health. Your gut microbiome and your lifestyle needs are unique and should be treated accordingly. We create personalized plans that feel good and works for you.

Ever hear of the food-mood connection? It's real. What you eat affects how you think, feel, and act. To ensure sustainable change, instead of restricting you from eating the foods you love, giving you a list of foods to avoid, or calorie counting, we simply add in nutritious foods to your diet. We focus on what you can have rather than what you can't have. By eating and drinking foods that are good for you, you will naturally have less room and desire for unhealthy foods. The less healthy options will begin to get “crowded out." This takes a little practice to make happen but we will support you along the way. Weight loss is often a side effect of health gains!

To feel great in your body, fostering aspects of life outside of diet are essential such as physical activity, deep sleep, relationships, social interaction, career satisfaction, and financial abundance. Mindfulness plays a big part in our coaching method because given half a chance, your body will heal itself, all you have to do is learn to listen to it. In this busy, hyper-connected world, it’s easy to fall into autopilot and ignore what your body is trying to communicate to you.
